How to Clean Your Face Mask

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has made recommendations that are now familiarized by nearly every American. Face masks have opened the doors into a new world of self-expression as the design of your protective gear has much to say. Wearing patriotic face masks have carved out a space in our everyday interactions with our community all while respecting social distancing. These patriotic masks let everyone know we stand united through the tough times and that we will overcome any and all adversity. Voicing out your patriotism and securing you and your family’s health have come together. Now, you may wonder, how do you actually clean these masks? The CDC provides a great account, but we want to especially spread that awareness on FlagShirt.com for our loyal American audience. We’re all in this together.

In fact, you should know that 10% of the proceeds from face mask sales are donated to the First Responders Children’s Foundation. Please help keep you, your family and now the families of our First Responder heroes safe and protected. We have an entire collection awaiting you!

How To Clean Your Face Mask?

First of all, it is important to know whether you will be cleaning by machine or by hand, regardless both are extremely effective. We’ll start off by outlining the washing process and then move onto the drying.

If washing by machine, you’ll want to wash your patriotic masks with like-colors in your everyday laundry. Make sure to set the water to the warmest appropriate setting. However, if washing by hand, you’ll need to create a bleaching solution. You’ll want to mix 5 tablespoons of bleach that is purposed for disinfection (please check that the label states this) per gallon of water at room temperature. Soak for 5 minutes in the cleaning solution. Finally, rinse with cool or room temperature water.

As for the drying process, if by machine, you’ll want to dry the masks with the highest setting and leave them in the dryer until they are completely dry. If by hand, lay the masks flat and allow them to completely air dry. If possible, leave them to dry in direct sunlight.

Luckily, it is that simple! You can clean your face masks pretty quickly and ensure your safety when out and about, expressing your patriotism at every corner!
