The world is experiencing one of the biggest health crises we've seen in decades. It’s now more important than ever to come together as a nation even if we can’t be together in person. The good news is that there are still ways to come together in unity and comprise one nation at home. Here are some ways to join together as a country and do so from our individual homes:
Share Positive Messages on Social Media
Thanks to the age of technology that we live in, which is far reaching and extremely expansive in nature, we can send messages to those near and far. Social media provides an excellent way to stay informed and provide hope for those who might be scared, anxious, or just wondering what's going to come next. As a nation, we can use social media to share positive messages with others, whether it be to post thoughtful quotes, uplifting sentiments, or photos of loved ones and beautiful things. It's easy to become overwhelmed by some of the things we're seeing on social media these days, but if we keep it positive and spread good messages, we can do our part in coming together from our posts; our homes.
Stay in Contact with Friends and Loved Ones
In addition to staying in touch with others via social media, it's also important to reach out by phone, email, and text to stay in touch with friends and family members. Since practicing social distancing is of the utmost importance these days, visiting loved ones in person is not an option. However, it's easy enough to stay in touch by phone, email, or even Skype, and doing so can brighten someone's day and let them know they are not alone in all of this. We are all in this together!
Consider How We Can Help Others Recover Once the Pandemic Has Passed
Although we may feel as if this pandemic will never end, it's safe to assume that at some point the coronavirus crisis will end. Therefore, it's a good idea to think about ways to recover once the pandemic has passed. This goes for our own situation as well as helping others. We can come together as one nation to do good things for others. There will be business owners that are having a hard time getting back on their feet right away due to current closures and individuals who may be dealing with employment issues. With this in mind, we can think of ways to help, whether by showing some love for local businesses on social media, volunteering with organizations once they are up and running again, helping others find new employment options or getting their business back up and running, and donating to local charities.
Now more than ever is the perfect time to show our patriotism and love for this country by coming together collectively as a nation and helping others through this troubling time, even if it has to be done at home for the time being. We may be one nation at home, but above all, we must remain united.
