Showing Our Patriotism During Difficult Times

Showing Our Patriotism During Difficult Times

We miss casual shopping outings, dining out in restaurants, and the simplest of things often taken for granted such as hugs, handshakes, and high-fives. As we work through the upheaval that this pandemic has thrown upon us and worry about our health and the health of others, one thing remains certain and it’s something that can never be taken away from us, our patriotism. Here are a few ways to show our patriotism during difficult times:

Come Together Regardless of Party Lines

One way to show American patriotism is to join forces with all Americans regardless of political affiliations. There has been much divide due to political party association in the past. Now more than ever, it’s vital to come together with our fellow Americans and show a patriotic front to work together to make this coronavirus pandemic a thing of the past. Whether Democrat, Republican, or Independent, we must join together as a country and fight this pandemic as one.

Applaud and Support American Heroes

Another way to be patriotic during these tough times is to applaud and support our American heroes. Show our healthcare professionals, first responders, military members, grocery store workers, transportation professionals, and all other essential business workers that we are behind them. This can be done by physically applauding their efforts, providing them with delivery food items, or simply writing cards or creating signs of encouragement. We can join together as a country and show those working for us and for the benefit of our health that we are behind them 100%.

Rally Around the Flag

As we face this crisis head on, it’s the perfect time to embrace our patriotism and support those around the country. We can easily show our patriotism by rallying around the American flag. If you haven’t done so already, hang the American flag outside your door or place small American flags in your garden to show your patriotic spirit. We are all in this together and engaging in this fight against the coronavirus as a unified nation is essential.

Fill Out Your United States Census 2020 Form

The United States Census Bureau is currently collecting information for Census 2020 and it’s very important that you fill out your census form and return it as soon as possible. The census determines how federal funds are distributed amongst the states and the number of congressional seats for each state. It’s easy to forget about this necessary task during the current pandemic but it’s essential that you complete it. By filling out the Census 2020 form you’re doing your patriotic duty for the benefit of your country, state, and local community.

Don’t Forget to Vote

Also important to keep in mind is to vote in any upcoming elections. There are many governmental elections taking place in the coming months so you want to be sure to vote, make your voice heard, and fulfil your patriotic duty by helping to decide who gets elected.

Showing your patriotism is something that should never be put on hold, no matter what is transpiring in the country at the time. In fact, now is an even more important time to band together as a country and do all that we can for the benefit of our nation.
