This month's featured Patriot is Philip Ward. Philip is a News Reporter for Erie News Now in Erie, Pennsylvania and originally from Buffalo, NY. Philip says "I love the products from Flag Shirt because you can’t go wrong. This month's Patriot Highlight features members of the Berrien County Sheriff's Office.  They are pictured above wearing red, white and blue gear from the Flag Shirt for a charity event: The Southwest Michigan Polar Plunge! The team chose to show off their American pride by wearing a Flag Shirt popular pick: The Men's Patriotic U.S.A. Quick-dry Jersey T-Shirt! The event, also called "Freezing for a Reason", took place on February 4th, 2023. With the help of the sheriff's office and 300 other participants, a total of $124,000 was raised in support of the Special Olympics. This month's Patriot Highlight is John Pero. John is a Vietnam Vet and spent nine years in the U.S. Navy serving his country. His wife Jannai, who nominated him, shares he still fights for freedom as a leader of many groups in his community. John grew up on a small dairy farm in Ohio with seven sisters. His father and three of his sisters were also in the military. He learned the value of hard work at a young age. These values are with him still. He serves as an elected member and a delegate, and also teaches Constitution classes, attends school board and community meetings. This month's Patriot Highlight features a very proud Vietnam War Veteran named Danny Tomlinson. Danny served as the Damage Control Officer on the USS Kilauea (AE 26) from 1969-1972. Danny loves to show off the stars & stripes shirts from Flag Shirt whenever he gets the chance. Especially patriotic events like a 4th of July Parade, on Veterans Day, Memorial Day, 9/11 Day, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, Flags for Fallen Vets, Wreaths across America and several others. This month's Patriot Highlight is about a veteran named Joe Neff, and the Veterans Golf Program. The team is pictured above looking extra patriotic in their Flag Shirt Polos for the program's annual golf tournament. Joe is a retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel and was a track and field coach for over forty years. He coached for the USA in the 1992 Paralympic Games, and was a head coach of the Marine Trials track team. The Veterans Golf Program started out in 2012, with just six veterans signed up and one goal: to foster the physical and mental well-being of military veterans through the medium of golf!
